At Spirit Reins, licensed mental health clinicians and equine professionals work alongside the entire family—helping them develop specific skills and abilities needed for a foundation of lifelong well-being. We use an experiential, client-centered therapeutic approach, which is built upon the Natural Lifemanship Model. Through this approach, children and families gain self-control and learn how to make good choices as they build healthy relationships.

Position Summary:
Under direct supervision of the Clinical Director, the Clinical Therapist partners with an Equine Professional to provide Trauma-Focused Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) to individuals, families and groups. Individualized services are guided by the principles of the Natural Lifemanship model and focus on helping clients learn to self-regulate and build healthy relationships. Therapy draws from other models including EMDR, play therapy and TF-CBT. The Clinical Therapist utilizes their education, professional and life experience, and training with horses to help serve children, youth and families impacted by trauma and other mental health concerns. The Clinical Therapist also utilizes their knowledge of trauma, brain development, and how trauma impacts an individual’s worldview and functioning in relationships. Maintains confidentiality of all records relating to clients’ treatment.

Essential Functions:
• Serves as the Therapist member of the treatment team, co-facilitating trauma focused individual, family and group psychotherapy based on the principles of the Natural LIfemanship model. Incorporates other experiential treatment modalities such as art, play, and music therapy as needed to enhance the client’s treatment plan
• Coordinates client scheduling with team members; conducts new client intake, as well as initial and annual comprehensive psychosocial assessments; assesses all clients for risk of harm to self or others; administers evaluation and measurement tools
• Develops and implements client treatment plans in collaboration with Equine Professional and with input from client and caregivers, updates treatment plans when required, as well as when client’s needs change
• Enters all clinical documentation in a timely and complete manner consistent with agency policies and procedures, as well as regulatory agency requirements
• Communicates with clients, family members and collateral contacts as needed
• Participates actively in clinical and administrative team meetings, consultation, peer review and professional development trainings

Education and Experience Requirements:
• Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work or related field from an accredited college or university
• Holds and maintains relevant professional clinical licensure (e.g. LCSW, LPC, LMFT)
• At least two years experience working in a community mental health setting working with children and families who have experienced trauma
• Training in the Natural Lifemanship model required (previous or after hire)
• Strong psychosocial assessment, treatment planning and therapy skills
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
• Treats all people with respect and values diverse perspectives
• Must be flexible and have a sense of humor

Clinical Services Administrator

Position Summary:
Under direct supervision of the Clinical Director, the Clinical Services Administrator works closely with the Clinical Team in a variety of roles including enrolling clients in services, scheduling appointments, managing billing for services and other administrative support functions. This position also assists the Director of Finance with accounts receivable and other finance related functions. The Clinical Services Administrator directly interfaces with clients who have experienced trauma in a trauma-informed manner. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize and organize diversified workload.

Essential Functions:
• Client Services – Includes greeting clients for check-in or collecting payment, ensuring completeness of new client paperwork, coordinate intake process in consultation with clinical staff and facilitation of timely client appointment scheduling, receive and respond to admissions inquiries, invoice clients as needed, answer incoming phone calls and emails in a timely manner, communicate and coordinate with contracted organizations.
• Billing - Includes overseeing the billing process, resolving claims processing issues, running eligibility checks, ensuring secondary claim forms are submitted, obtaining single case agreements, follow-up on claims not paid in 60 days, managing credentialing process and requesting additional visits from insurance companies, as needed.
• Financial – Includes processing bank deposits, sending monthly billing overview for contracted partners to Spirit Reins’ A/R department, ensuring allowed amounts are accurately entered in practice management system, entering client and insurance payments, reconciling payments recorded in Quickbooks, uploading purchase receipts and invoices/statements received.
• Office - Includes checking PO Box, maintaining office supplies inventory, background checks for new volunteers, managing clinical charts, ensuring accuracy in client records, and other duties as needed.

• High school diploma, or equivalent, required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
• At least two years of customer service experience
• Experience with insurance billing preferred
