Volunteer Opportunities

Due to the sensitive nature of our services and HIPAA regulations, Spirit Reins does not allow volunteers to participate in sessions. We value our client’s confidentiality and strive to provide a safe and stable environment to best meet the needs of our clients.

Each volunteer must attend one of our Informational Events before they can begin volunteering. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please read the opportunities below to see if you meet the requirements and then inquire This email address is being protected from spambots. Morning Feeder

Our feeders are a very important part of Spirit Reins. They feed our 30 horses each morning so they can start their day off right! Feeding begins at 8am every morning and can take up to 2 hours to complete. Duties may include:

-       Feeding, of course!

-       Mucking stalls

-       Keeping barn clean and free of debris

-       Occasionally helping put out hay bales for the large herd

-       Occasionally clean out water troughs

Our feeders must:

-       Be 18 years of age or older

-       Be able to lift 50 pounds or more

-       Be on their feet for at least 2 hours

-       Be attentive to our horses (looking out for any wounds or any changes in eating behavior)

-       Have 1 year experience with horses

Ranch Hand

This is also a very important task. We need extra help at times to keep our 125 acres of land looking it’s best. These volunteers would need to:

-       Know how to operate a tractor

-       Be able to remove and attach front and back attachments on the tractor

-       Shred or “mow” large acres of land

-       Be able to lift 50 pounds or more

-       Be out in the sun for hours at a time

Office Cleaning

Help us keep our therapy office and administrative office neat and tidy. This can include vacuuming, sweeping, dusting, mopping and cleaning restrooms. Hours and days are flexible.

Technical Administrative Assistant

Duties may include assisting with technical computer issues, applying updates and more technical administrative support.  Duties may also include data entry, filing and answering the telephone.  Request a minimum commitment of 3 months. Hours and days are flexible.

Are you interested in helping us raise support? Do you like thanking people, hosting informational events, planning fundraising events, managing databases, or helping with giving campaigns? Then we have the perfect volunteer opportunity for you. Hours and days are flexible.

Do you have public relations, marketing, advertising, photography, video or graphic design skills? We could use your help getting the word out about Spirit Reins. Hours and days are flexible.
